  • About Lake Barrine

Lake Barrine is very similar to Lake Eacham. It was formed by the same volcanic processes and is surrounded by identical rainforest. Like Lake Eacham, it is ideal for swimming, canoeing, bushwalking and bird watching.

Lake Barrine does, however, offer additional facilities that Lake Eacham does not have. The Lake Barrine Tea House is an excellent place to sit down for lunch on the veranda overlooking the lake. A wildlife cruise departs from the tea house 4 times daily, offering an informative and gentle boat ride around the perimeter of the lake.

A 5-minute walk from the teahouse is two historic Kauri Pines. These twin trees are over 1100 years old and are a magnificent site.
